About me

Psychodynamic psychotherapist BPC UKCP FPC

I am an experienced, accredited psychotherapist with a background working with children, adolescents and families, and over ten years clinical experience working with adults in individual psychotherapy. I hold a BSc (Hons) Psychology degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy with distinction from WPF Therapy.

I trained as a psychodynamic psychotherapist, which means I consider how our unconscious mind influences our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, and see the therapeutic relationship at the heart of therapeutic change. My work is also shaped by the ideas of Carl Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist who founded Analytical Psychology, and post-qualifying I have developed my practice studying with Jungian Analysts at The Society of Analytical Psychology.

Jung believed that our mind naturally seeks balance and growth. He suggested that coming to know parts of our personality we aren't fully aware of - what he called our ‘shadow’ - can help us grow and become more complete. By exploring these unconscious parts, psychotherapy can support our natural journey toward self-understanding and wholeness, a process Jung referred to as ‘individuation.’

Professional experience

Since 2000 I have worked in various roles with adults, families and young people from a diversity of cultural and religious backgrounds, sexual orientations and ages, in charities, local authorities and private practice. I completed my postgraduate psychotherapy training at WPF Therapy, one of the leading academic and clinical psychotherapy training institutions in the UK at the time.

I have been practising as an adult psychotherapist since 2013, working within the WPF Therapy clinic in London Bridge, NHS Slam and private practice. I am clinically experienced working with a broad range of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, bereavement, ADHD, family and relationship difficulties, chronic pain, boarding school trauma, dissociation, self-harm and suicidal thoughts.
